The successful candidate will assist in managing credit exposure by monitoring outstanding position limits, ensuring data accuracy, and analyzing credit risk metrics. This role is ideal for someone passionate about risk management and eager to learn in a dynamic trading environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor Position Limits: Track and report all outstanding credit and position limits on a daily basis, ensuring compliance with company policies and limits.
- Data Management : Maintain accurate records of credit exposures, counterparty limits, and other relevant risk data in internal systems.
- Credit Risk Reporting : Generate and distribute periodic credit risk reports, highlighting exposures, breaches, and any key developments.
- Credit Assessment Support : Assist in analyzing and evaluating counterparties’ creditworthiness, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data.
- Risk Mitigation: Assist in developing and recommending strategies to mitigate credit risks based on market conditions, credit analysis, and exposure trends.
- Trade and Position Monitoring: Track trades and positions in real-time to identify potential breaches in limits and escalate as necessary.
- Communication: Work closely with the trading, finance, and compliance teams to provide accurate and timely risk reports and insights.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory frameworks and internal risk management policies.
- Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all credit risk-related data, correcting discrepancies and updating records as required.
- Process Improvement : Support continuous improvement initiatives within the credit risk management function to enhance efficiency and risk control processes.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-5 years of experience in credit risk, risk management, finance, or a related role within the commodity trading or financial services industry (entry-level experience with strong numerical skills will be considered).
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in MS Excel and other data management tools. Familiarity with Python is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong numerical and analytical abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in handling large datasets.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly and concisely.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially when handling sensitive financial data.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and identify solutions to mitigate risks and issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and coordinate with different departments.
- Interest in Commodities: Knowledge or interest in the agriculture commodity trading industry will be a strong advantage.
