Job Overview:

The Desktop Engineer will be responsible for providing comprehensive support for desktop systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware and software. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a problem-solving mindset, and a customer-centric approach to support. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:Install, configure, and maintain desktop/laptop systems, including hardware, software, and peripherals.Provide technical support and troubleshooting for desktop-related issues, both remotely and on-site.Assist with the deployment of new desktop hardware and software.Ensure desktop systems are secure and compliant with company policies and industry standards.Perform regular maintenance and updates to desktop systems, including patch management.Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex technical issues.Document technical procedures, processes, and solutions for future reference.Train and support end-users on desktop systems and software applications.Monitor and manage desktop performance, ensuring optimal operation.Participate in IT projects and initiatives, providing expertise on desktop-related matters.

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Minimum of 3 years of experience in desktop support or a related role.Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems.Experience with desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Knowledge of network and security principles related to desktop systems.Familiarity with remote support tools and techniques.Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or similar are a plus.
