Role Overview :

As a 3D Generalist (Lighting Specialist), you'll work across multiple aspects of the 3D pipeline with a strong focus on lighting in Unreal Engine. You will create high-quality lighting setups that enhance gameplay and storytelling while supporting environment, character, and cinematic art. Your secondary responsibilities may include modeling, texturing, and look development.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design and implement real-time and baked lighting setups in Unreal Engine 5 (Lumen, Nanite, Lightmass).
• Establish mood, tone, and atmosphere for environments, characters, and cinematics.
• Collaborate with environment artists, level designers, and technical artists to achieve cohesive visuals.
• Optimize lighting setups for performance across platforms (PC, console, mobile).
• Assist in generalist 3D tasks such as modeling, texturing, and asset integration when required.
• Utilize Unreal's post-processing tools to fine-tune exposure, tone mapping, and visual effects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve lighting and rendering issues.

Requirements :

• Proven experience as a 3D Generalist or Lighting Artist in games, film, or real-time projects.
• Strong expertise in Unreal Engine 5 lighting workflows (Lumen, Nanite, Lightmass).
• Solid understanding of real-time rendering, PBR workflows, and post-processing.
• Proficiency in at least one major 3D software (Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, etc.).
• Good knowledge of texturing tools (Substance Painter, Photoshop, etc.).
• Strong artistic sense of composition, color, and atmosphere.
• Ability to optimize assets and lighting for performance.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice-to-Haves :

• Experience with cinematic lighting in Unreal for cutscenes.
• Knowledge of shaders, materials, or Blueprint scripting.
• Familiarity with ray tracing and HDR workflows.
• A strong portfolio showcasing lighting and generalist skills.
