Job Requirements:As a plant production planner, work with other departments to ensure optimal production plans to meet demand and other plant targets and goals. Work closely with customer service and plant operations to optimize production planning, material purchasing and operations efforts to drive improved lead time, reduced inventory levels and optimized plant efficiency. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to receiving customer orders and forecasts through EDI and the LX ERP, developing optimized production plans to meet the forecast and orders, coordinating with the materials buyer and production supervisors to ensure materials and line time are available in sufficient quantities and at the right time to achieve an optimized production plan. Responsibilities will also include communicating the production plan to plant and operations teams and management, working with the SIOP team and performing analysis to improve operations.
Responsibilities:Prioritizes production plans to maintain plant productivity to insure accurate and efficient plant load capacity. Reprioritize as necessary to maintain production flow and meet lead times.Interpret customer demand forecasts and plan production and material purchases accordingly.Provide and communicate an optimized production plan based on customer demand and forecast to optimize production flow, minimize lead time, minimize inventory.Ensure efficient integration of MRP and Demand-pull scheduling/purchasing requirements.Establish and implement processes to maximize and maintain efficient material and production flow, minimize lead times.Work closely with Engineering, Operations and Sales Department to effectively manage quotations, lead times and update as appropriate to all departments.Understand and utilize Kanban systems, Lean Manufacturing and 5 S Programs to manage effective production and material flow in the operation.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Support company policies, programs, and initiatives.Knowledge of business law, legal contracts, cash flow and working capital.Strong computer skills, MS Office, and use of MRP/ERP systems.Other tasks as assigned by the Plant Manager.
Qualifications/ Experience:Bachelor’s degree Business Administration or 5 or more years of experience planning/scheduling in manufacturing
