Nasdaq is looking for an upbeat senior analyst of Observability and Monitoring to join our fast-growing FinTech Services team, focusing on our Calypso suite of cloud-based capital markets solutions.
The senior analyst for observability and monitoring will chip in to a constantly evolving set of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) initiatives. The Nasdaq CapCloud service is a global service with hundreds of live environments serving thousands of users daily. Our clients come from across the whole of the financial markets spectrum and require 24x7 support. The senior analyst will work internally with Nasdaq’s dev/ops, operations and support teams to deliver premier observability tools to enable them to serve our global clients efficiently. This is a hands-on role working in an Agile environment with both the Product Manager of Observability and the senior architects within our dev/ops organization to deliver Observability as Code (OaC) solutions.
This role will be advised by the Lead Product Manager for Observability. A successful candidate will understand the outstanding nature of providing hosted solutions via Software-as-a-Service, an established track record of excellence in giving to Site Reliability Engineering initiatives, a sound technical background in observability stacks including terraform, open telemetry and APM/monitoring vendors, an ability to work both independently and cross-functionally, and a good sense of initiative.
Primary duties and responsibilities
Observability Platform: significant contribution to the delivery of the observability platform to our internal teams, ensuring they are equipped to quickly detect and remediate issues in all cloud services. This includes all vital telemetry, dashboards, alerts, runbooks and the training thereof. ITIL process: follow our ITIL event, incident, and problem management processes to drive a culture of continuous improvement of the observability platform. Change Program Measurement: supervise the efficiency of each initiative against the stated business objectives and KPIs Documentation and Communication: regular preparation and improvement of Nasdaq’s technical documentation including architecture blueprints, data flow diagrams, and observability runbooks.What We Expect
A degree in Computer Science or related field Technical certifications in one or more public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, OCI, GCP, etc.) Experience with observability, monitoring and logging standard tools and frameworks for logs, metrics and traces via Open Telemetry (for example, any of the following: AppDynamics, DataDog, New Relic, Dynatrace, ServiceNow, Freshworks, etc.) Several years of demonstrated experience in contributing to a world-class observability platform to global cloud teams. Laser focus on defining value and getting things done in a fast-paced environment. A focus on outcomes, not titles. An attitude of rolling up the sleeves and getting the job done right now, combined with an allegiance to retrospectives and continuous improvement. Driven, curious and value continuous learning Very strong collaboration, organization, and technical skills. Comfortable working up, down and across the organizational chart. Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical architectures and data flows Strong English language skills: additional languages are a plus Experience working with agile methodologies is preferableCome as You Are
