Job Title: Senior Manager, R2 R PillarJob SummaryReporting to the Director, Finance Operations & Transformation, the Senior ManagerR2 R Pillar is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, efficientoperations, and continuous process improvements for the US, UK and Middle EastMarkets currently supported by the Bangalore based R2 R team.In addition, the Senior Manager will support the transition of R2 R activities from newmarkets, ensuring the knowledge transfer of activities are documented andembedded into the operations of the R2 R team. The Senior Manager will participatein the overall management of the Controlling Ops team, ensuring that there isexcellent communication and coordination with the P2 P and O2 C Pillar Managers.The Senior Manager will manage three direct reports and an existing team of 45+FTEs that is expected to grow to approximately 60 FTEs during 2026.Job Location : BangaloreMust have skills :Record to Report (R2 R) / Revenue & Expenses within R2 R / Financial Reporting / US GAAP / IFRS / General Ledger Accounting / Month-End and Year-End Closing / Process Improvement & Automation / Global Finance Operations / Team Management & Leadership / Balance Sheet Reconciliation / ERP SystemsKey responsibilities include:● Lead the R2 R Pillar with a focus on the timely and accurate delivery of allactual financial statements and reports based on US GAAP● Manage the delivery of R2 R activities including general ledger accounting,posting of journal entries, intercompany, fixed assets and inventory entries● Manage and build strong processes for quality balance sheet managementtimely and meaningful reconciliations and review with Market Controllers,● Manage the month-end and year-end close timetable and activities to ensureadherence to deadlines and to ensure actual results are accurately reportedin the period across all financial statements and that supportingdocumentation is provided to explain any unusual movements to supportvariance analysis being prepared Market Controlling and FP&A teamsPage2 Senior Manager, R2 R Pillar● Develop strong collaborative working arrangements and process hand-offswith the Market Controllers and teams that are retained in Markets and retainoverall accountability for Financial reporting for management purposes as wellas statutory and regulatory reporting● Build relationships and establish networking, collaboration, training,governance, reporting and cross functional working with senior leadershipacross the Controlling teams● Manage reporting and KPIs related to the R2 R Pillar team to highlightopportunities to improve performance and enhance controls● Coordinate with the Market Controller to support internal and externalauditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations to facilitateaudits● Perform periodic controls testing and put in place actions to address identifiedcontrols risksContinuous Improvement● Develop and monitor performance against agreed performance measures andKPIs, ensuring actions are taken to address key control risks and addressimprovement opportunities through process standardization, Workday andother technology adoption and better ways of team working● Stays abreast of industry best practices and seek approval to implementthose that drive efficiency and effectiveness● With the Market Controllers, input a range of projects, ensuring that allproposals that impact the R2 R team are successfully delivered andembedded in the organisation● Participate in arrangements to ensure Global Controlling teams collaborateand share opportunities to standardise and enhance R2 R service delivery● Participate in activities to streamline and standardize the use of the WorkdayFDM (Charts of Accounts), journal entries and reconciliations● Work as part of the Bangalore Controlling Operations management team tosupport the delivery of the overall team’s goals● Participate fully in the transition of additional activities into the Bangalore teamPage3 Senior Manager, R2 R PillarTeam Management● Manage the activities of 40+ existing R2 R team members (growing toapproximately 50 in 2025), setting goals/targets and providing coaching andfeedback to develop capabilities and improve performance● Periodically review activities of the team members to ensure activities arefocused on enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of the team● Participate in activities that drive the improvement in engagement scores andachieve higher levels of staff performance, career development, andsatisfactionRequired Qualifications and Experience● Strong relevant experience lending to confidence, gravitas & credibility inapproach● Qualified accountant, familiar with international financial accounting standards(US GAAP/IFRS)● A minimum of 15 years of experience in managing global finance operations,including management of record to report activities with a strong record ofsignificant achievements. A thorough appreciation of P2 P and O2 Cprocesses with at least 8 years in a leadership role, preferably in the digitaland print or similar industry● Proven track record of successfully managing R2 R operations and enhancinguse of core ERP finance systems, with a strong emphasis on digitaltransformation and automation● Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to driveoperational improvements and efficiencies● Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated abilityto develop and motivate teams● Very strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interacteffectively with all levels of the organization and external partners regardingmatters relating to accounting, controls and financial reporting● In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, andindustry best practices related to R2 R process● Experience of leading large, global teams in a shared service environmentAbout CompanyCondé Nast is a global media company producing the highest quality content with afootprint of more than 1 billion consumers in 32 territories through print, digital, videoand social platforms.
