Location: Ramayapatnam, Andhra Pradesh (near Nellore, AP)

Job Purpose

The Assistant Manager Solar Cell Process will be responsible for managing and optimizing solar cell manufacturing processes to ensure maximum efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. The role involves leading a team of engineers and technicians, troubleshooting production challenges, and driving continuous improvement in line with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Process Management

  • Oversee and manage solar cell process areas including Texturing, Diffusion, BSG-Polishing, PE-Poly, PECVD, and Metallization.
  • Ensure uninterrupted production operations and resolve process bottlenecks quickly.
  • Monitor key process performance indicators (yield, efficiency, throughput) and implement corrective measures.

2. Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor engineers and technicians to achieve process excellence.
  • Organize technical training sessions to enhance team capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

3. Process Improvement

  • Drive process optimization initiatives to improve productivity and reduce costs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for deviations and implement preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams for technology upgrades and new process introductions.

4. Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other quality standards.
  • Work with the quality team to analyze defects and minimize rework/scrap.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure adherence to SOPs and industry best practices.

5. Equipment Management

  • Oversee equipment installation, calibration, and preventive maintenance.
  • Maximize equipment uptime and ensure safe, efficient operations.

6. Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare reports on process performance, yield, and efficiency.
  • Present operational updates to senior management.
  • Represent the process team in cross-functional and project-related meetings.

Technological Requirements

  • Strong expertise in solar cell processes and manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience in SPC, RCA, DOE, Lean/Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Hands-on knowledge of process simulation and data analysis tools.
  • Proven ability to optimize solar cell process performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in solar cell process/manufacturing, with proven leadership exposure.
