Your impact & contribution:

Accountable for leading a team of Network Engineers, this role will drive excellence in Network design activities across the Staff, Branch and ATM Connectivity methods, Perimeter Network and Core Data Centre environment. They will oversee all Network engineering functions and be accountable for designs using repeatable patterns, with a drive towards being highly automated using “Infrastructure as Code” practises. They will work closely with architecture disciplines and other technology teams (application, infrastructure, security & operations) to challenge and ensure solutions are well integrated cost effective and work to simplify the environments.


Your responsibilities:

• Leads, inspires and motivates teams; providing visible leadership and people management.

• Sets the vision and strategic development of one or more IT practice; contributing to the overall strategy for the practice.

• Defines the scope of the practice and capability requirements

• Works across the service value chain to manage and deliver the required value streams.

• Oversees the development, implementation, monitoring and communication of policies, procedures and standards

• Manages; monitors and implements governance systems.

• Manages and mitigates IT risks

• Oversees operational reporting providing actionable insights is available on a regular basis.

• Defines, monitors and manages performance measures against targets for IT practice.

• Manages and monitors communication channels for IT practice.

• Ensure appropriate tooling is available to the community for effective execution of the practice

• Drive a culture of continuous improvement across IT by lifting accountability, capability and awareness across teams. Drive an in-depth understanding of the Service Management Practice across Global Technology Services.

• Recommend alternative technologies and Improvements, based on a deep knowledge of ITILv4, the firm’s strategic technology goals and the analysis of the system needs. These recommendations are presented clearly and understandably to senior management.

• Drive innovation and thought Leadership.

• Recruitment and training of employees

• Develop growth opportunities for team members

• Being accountable for Service Management team deliverables


Experience:

• Influential leader with a track record in mentoring, developing and inspiring a high performing team you will have a history of promoting an inclusive culture where colleagues are engaged and feel proud to be part of the team.

• Demonstrable executive level stakeholder management skills will be required to enable the promotion of your teams ideas, management of conflicting priorities and challenging of other where appropriate, facilitating and gaining consensus through those interactions

• Experience in working across a number of technical domains with the ability to ‘deep dive’

• Experience planning and developing support processes and adhering to best practices

• Strong background in disaster recovery and business continuity

• Proven problem solving, organisation and communication skills


Qualifications:

Exceptional influencing and communication skills

• Experience in Agile methods at scale

• ITIL certified

• Deep subject matter expert in at least one technical domain.

Containerised deployments and cloud provider integration o Virtualisation o Large scale financial industry systems and platforms

Web technologies and building enterprise architecture roadmaps
