Sr. Manager, B2B Supplier Partnerships

Position Overview:
We are looking for an ambitious, data driven and result oriented Sr. Manager with a proven track record to build, nurture and grow Banyan Nation’s B2B Supplier Partnerships PAN India. This role will lead the development and management of strategic partnerships with formal businesses and NGOs across India’s waste value chain to diversify and strengthen Banyan Nation’s supply chain beyond its core informal sector network, in line with the company’s overall expansion strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
New Supplier Acquisition
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable new suppliers to meet the company’s growing business needs.
• Increase the number of qualified suppliers, ensuring a robust and diversified supply chain.
• Develop strategies to mitigate risks through supplier diversification and long-term partnerships.
Supplier Performance Improvement
• Implement and monitor supplier performance scorecards, with a focus on improving bottom-performing suppliers.
• Collaborate with underperforming suppliers to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure continuous improvement in supplier quality, cost-effectiveness, and delivery performance.
Supplier Diversity
• Expand the diversity of Banyan Nation’s supplier base by onboarding suppliers from various geographies and across Startups, SMBs, Corporates and NGOs.
• Track and report on supplier diversity metrics, ensuring alignment with strategic diversity targets.
Supplier Training
• Conduct quarterly training sessions with maximum supplier participation to improve their performance and compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop training materials and content relevant to supplier needs and performance expectations.
• Measure the effectiveness of training programs and continuously refine them to meet evolving business requirements.
Supplier Payment Compliance
• Ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers in accordance with agreed-upon payment terms and conditions.
• Work with the finance and procurement teams to resolve any discrepancies in supplier payments.
• Maintain compliance with internal financial and procurement policies, ensuring that suppliers are paid on time.
Sustainability and Compliance
• Lead initiatives to ensure that B2B suppliers are aligned with Banyan Nation’s sustainability goals, including ethical sourcing and environmental impact reduction.
• Ensure supplier adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements, particularly in waste management and recycling practices.
• Support the development of sustainability metrics and collaborate with suppliers to achieve key environmental targets.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration, Social Sciences, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in supplier management, sourcing, or strategic partnerships across FMCG, Agriculture, F&B, E-commerce, Quick Commerce, etc. At-least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
• Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and supplier performance management skills.
• Proven track record in new supplier acquisition and improving supplier diversity.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in sustainable sourcing and ethical supplier management.
• Familiarity with supplier management software and tools
• Certification in sustainability, supply chain management, or community development.
