Description:

This candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the design of our Education Technology products and be responsible for building clean and effective user interfaces. This highly skilled and innovative candidate will demonstrate a strong passion for creating exceptional interfaces, possess a keen eye for detail, and exhibit leadership qualities to guide and inspire a team of designers.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of UI/Visual Designers, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and align with overarching product and business goals.
  • Develop and articulate a cohesive design strategy that aligns with product objectives and user needs.
  • Lead the conceptualization of visuals, ensuring simplicity and user-friendliness in complex user flows.
  • Define and maintain the visual identity of digital products, ensuring consistency and alignment with the overall brand.
  • Oversee the implementation of design strategies, including typography, iconography, colors, and layout.
  • Guide the creation of responsive design comps based on wireframes, ensuring high-quality and effective interfaces.
  • Champion new ideas and design innovations within the team, keeping abreast of industry best practices, patterns, and trends.
  • Present designs to stakeholders, effectively articulating design decisions and rationale.
  • Ensure clear communication and maintain consistency in design throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to execute designs, ensuring a smooth integration of user interfaces into the final product.
  • Provide expert opinions on design methodologies and techniques, contributing to continuous improvement.


Skills:

  • Proven experience in leading and mentoring design teams, with the ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Advanced proficiency in design tools and technologies relevant to UI/Visual Design.
  • Experience in implementing design within the software development lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and bring innovative design solutions to the table.
  • Dynamic and open to working in fast-paced, ambiguous, and rapidly changing environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address design challenges effectively.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex design concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and researching, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.

Qualifications:

  • 4 to 8 years of experience in UI/Visual Design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects.
  • Expertise in tools like Adobe XD, Figma, Photoshop
  • Knowledge of Illustrator would be an advantage
  • Experience in Education Technology would be great
