Job Summary:
The Senior Sales Coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating the sales team activities, handling key customer accounts, processing orders, supporting the field sales team, and ensuring seamless communication between the sales, production, and dispatch departments. This role requires a detail-oriented, proactive individual with a strong understanding of sales processes in the manufacturing domain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and support the internal and external sales team.
- Handle inquiries from customers and provide quotations, technical information, or commercial terms as applicable.
- Prepare and follow up on sales orders, proforma invoices, and order acknowledgments.
- Track and update order status from receipt to dispatch, including production coordination.
- Maintain and manage customer databases, pricing records, and order history.
- Ensure timely communication and resolution of issues between clients and internal departments (production, logistics, finance, etc.).
- Assist in preparing monthly/quarterly sales reports and sales forecasts.
- Handle customer complaints or issues and escalate when necessary.
- Monitor inventory and coordinate with stores or production for availability.
- Follow up on pending payments or credit approvals with finance/accounts.
- Maintain MIS and documentation for ISO/audit purposes if applicable.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong coordination and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and ERP systems (SAP/Tally/Oracle, etc.).
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail with a customer-first approach.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize under pressure.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduate (preferably in Commerce, Science, or Engineering); MBA in Sales/Marketing is a plus.
- 2 - 3 years of experience in a similar role in the manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of the sales order process, dispatch documentation, and coordination with production/logistics teams.
Preferred Industry Exposure:
Manufacturing of industrial equipment, electrical components, mechanical parts, chemicals, or engineering products.
