About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Automation Test Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java-based test automation, Selenium, API testing, and BDD frameworks like Cucumber. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks using Java and Selenium.
- Create and execute API test cases using tools like Postman or Rest Assured.
- Implement and maintain BDD test scripts using Cucumber in collaboration with developers and business analysts.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure end-to-end quality.
- Identify test requirements, create detailed test plans, and write reusable automation scripts.
- Analyze test results, track defects, and ensure timely resolution.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and best practices.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong experience in Java programming for test automation
- Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver
- Proficient in API testing (RESTful services)
- Experience with BDD frameworks, particularly Cucumber
- Good understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
- Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail)
- Working knowledge of version control systems like Git
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
- Knowledge of performance or security testing is a plus
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Familiarity with Playwright for modern end-to-end testing
- Exposure to mobile automation tools such as Appium
