Overview:

We are seeking a creative and passionate Social Media Manager to join our team. The Social Media Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies to increase brand awareness, engagement, and support for our organization's mission. This role requires expertise in social media marketing, content creation, and community management.

Responsibilities:

Social Media Strategy

  • Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies to promote the animal shelter's mission, programs, and events across various platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Identify target audiences, key messages, and content themes to resonate with followers and drive engagement.
  • Monitor social media trends, algorithms, and best practices to optimize content performance and stay ahead of industry changes.
  • Understanding of Consumer Behavior Psychology.

Content Creation

  • Create compelling and visually appealing content, including posts, graphics, photos, videos, and stories, to showcase shelter animals, success stories, events, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team, volunteers, and community partners to source content ideas and user-generated content.
  • Schedule and publish content according to a content calendar, ensuring consistent posting and brand messaging across platforms.
  • Developing email marketing campaigns via MailChimp aimed at fundraising and maintaining engagement with our organization's donors.
  • Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics. Strong knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics.

Community Engagement

  • Build and nurture relationships with followers, supporters, and influencers within the animal welfare community.
  • Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries promptly and professionally, fostering positive interactions and addressing concerns or questions.
  • Host a pet food carnival at the shelter every 15 days, inviting volunteers and donors through Instagram and Facebook posts, as well as postings in relevant Facebook groups.
  • Hosting monthly live video calls through Mailchimp to showcase the shelter, alongside regular posts, stories, and reels on Facebook or Instagram.
  • Applying for grants in the field of Animal Welfare, both domestically and internationally, including programs within and outside of India.
  • Expressing gratitude to monthly donors by presenting them with a personalized thank-you photo frame, sponsoring a dog with a dedicated photo frame featuring the sponsored dog, and extending appreciation to interns, long-term volunteers, and reporters through heartfelt thank-you cards.

Campaign Management

  • Crafting narratives of successful animal rescues and rehabilitation journeys, illustrating the transformative journey from rescue to recovery through captivating blogs and stories featured on our website.
  • Plan and execute social media campaigns, contests, and fundraising drives to increase awareness, donations, and volunteer participation.
  • Track and analyze campaign performance metrics, such as reach, engagement, and conversion rates, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Estimating and monitoring the assigned budget for various media-related activities

Analytics and Reporting

  • Monitor social media analytics using platforms like Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, and Instagram Insights to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare regular reports summarizing key metrics, trends, and insights to inform decision-making and strategy refinement.
    • Crisis Management
    • Monitor social media channels for potential crises or negative feedback and develop strategies to address and mitigate issues effectively.
    • Work closely with the marketing team and shelter management to handle crisis communications and maintain the organization's reputation.

Performing other related duties as required to support the operation of the animal shelter and the welfare of its residents.

Knowledge of:

  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, presentation software, analytical tools,
  • relevant social media marketing tools etc.
  • Familiarity with typical office protocols, methods, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and adherence to safe working procedures.
  • Skill in maintaining precise record-keeping.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration or related field.
  • Certifications in Social Media Management, Digital Marketing, etc. will be an added advantage

Required Background, Experience and Skills:

  • Total 4+ years of hands-on experience in managing social media accounts for diverse brands or organizations, showcasing the ability to adapt tone, style, and content to different audiences and industries.
  • Demonstrated track record of 4+ years in crafting and executing social media strategies across multiple platforms, with a focus on driving engagement, brand awareness, and conversions.
  • Proven experience of 4+ years in analyzing social media metrics and trends to inform content creation and campaign optimization.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated proficiency in content creation, including graphic design, video editing, and copywriting, to produce compelling and shareable social media content.
  • Strong understanding of social media algorithms and best practices, staying updated on industry trends and platform changes to ensure maximum organic reach and engagement.
  • Experience in crisis management and reputation monitoring on social media platforms, with the ability to respond promptly and effectively to mitigate negative feedback or PR issues.
  • 3+ years of experience in managing social media communities and fostering meaningful interactions with followers, including implementing user-generated content strategies and influencer partnerships.
  • Extensive knowledge of social media advertising platforms (e.g., Facebook Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager) and experience in creating and optimizing paid social campaigns to meet specific KPIs.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to create engaging and impactful content.
  • Proficiency in graphic design and video editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and campaigns.
  • Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) and analytics platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-centric approach to community engagement.
