Job Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled Unix System Engineer to join our team. As a Unix System Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Unix-based systems. This is a senior role requiring 7 to 10 years of experience in Unix system administration. The position is full-time and based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.


Qualifications and Skills


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in Unix system administration
  • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM)
  • Proficiency in shell scripting (e.g., Bash, Perl)
  • Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix)
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and concepts
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication and collaboration abilities
  • Certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Certified System Administrator (CSA) are preferred


Roles and Responsibilities


  • Designing and implementing highly available and scalable Unix-based systems
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining Unix servers, applications, and related software
  • Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues
  • Ensuring system security and implementing best practices
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance
  • Managing system backups and recovery processes
  • Documenting system configurations, processes, and procedures
