Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with expertise in Special Purpose Machine (SPM) concept design and cost estimation. The role involves developing innovative machine concepts, preparing detailed designs, estimating costs, and supporting project proposals to deliver customized solutions for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop concept designs for Special Purpose Machines (SPM) based on customer requirements.
  • Prepare 2D/3D models, assemblies, and layouts using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, etc.).
  • Select appropriate mechanical systems, drives, actuators, and fixtures to achieve cycle time and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the automation, electrical, and manufacturing teams for integrated solutions.
  • Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and machine cost estimations including fabrication, machining, purchased parts, and assembly.
  • Support quotation preparation for sales and business development teams.
  • Ensure designs meet safety standards, ergonomics, and quality requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews, feasibility analysis, and cost optimization.
  • Provide technical support during machine manufacturing, assembly, and customer approval stages.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of SPM, jigs, fixtures, and special-purpose tooling design.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidEdge/Creo/AutoCAD).
  • Understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and servo systems.
  • Experience in cost estimation, BOM preparation, and vendor evaluation.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining, and fabrication techniques.
  • Problem-solving, analytical thinking, and creativity in design approach.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.nsibilities
