Position: Senior Site Reliability Engineer, Digital Business

Purpose: The incumbent will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our mission-critical infrastructure and applications. The Senior SRE will drive, define, and implement best practices, mentor junior engineers, and drive innovation within the team.

Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience: Overall 10+ years of experience as an SRE in a production environment.

Location: Bengaluru

Reporting Relationship: Head of Technology, Digital Business

Business/Channel/Function: Digital

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:

Mentor and guide junior SREs, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Lead the design and implementation of new SRE methodologies and tools. Advocate for SRE best practices across the organization.

Technical Expertise:

Design, implement, and maintain sophisticated monitoring and alerting systems for infrastructure and applications. Architect and build highly scalable and resilient infrastructure on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Implement automation solutions for infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and configuration management. Optimize system performance and identify potential bottlenecks. Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents impacting service availability and performance. Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and trends in the SRE field.

Collaboration:

Work closely with development teams to understand their needs and ensure system reliability aligns with product goals. Collaborate with other SREs and operations teams to ensure efficient and effective incident response. Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to provide insights and update.

Ability to work with all levels within the organisation, including field service team members' management, cross-departmental teams and senior leadership. Should be a good team player & able to work independently under pressure. Experience handling the remote and inhouse teams is must. Strategic thinker balanced with a grasp of details. Must possess the ability to switch between execution and strategy mode most effortlessly. Ability to see the big picture, visualize the future and develop relevant functional strategies which value add to our business. Ability to prioritize and cope with competing demands. Must possess a sense of urgency and excellent execution and project management skills. Must be excited by and be able to navigate ambiguity. Passion for results and excellence. Must be able to get the job done by working collaboratively with others. Inquisitive and analytical mind; out-of-the-box thinking; bring a creative perspective to business problems applying functional expertise, business understanding and common sense.

Technical

Proven track record of leading and mentoring SRE teams. Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud platforms, and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible). Experience with monitoring and alerting systems (Prometheus, Grafana). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
