We are seeking an experienced and versatile Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in managing, maintaining, and optimizing diverse database technologies across cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, a solid understanding of database architecture and performance tuning, and a proactive approach to ensuring data reliability, security, and scalability. Key Responsibilities: Database Management: Deploy, configure, maintain, and optimize databases — both relational and non-relational — across major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP). Migration Expertise: Lead or support cloud migration projects, including assessment, planning, and execution of on-premises databases to cloud environments. Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability. Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain database security policies, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Collaboration: Work closely with application development, infrastructure, and Dev Ops teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal database performance. Automation: Design and develop scripts or automation workflows to streamline database administration, backup, and monitoring tasks. Monitoring & Reporting: Utilize tools such as Grafana, Cloud Watch, Datadog, or Prometheus to monitor database performance and generate health reports. Technical Proficiencies: Relational Databases: Strong expertise in Postgre SQL and Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL). Optional Skills: Working knowledge of Oracle, My SQL, and No SQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, Mongo DB) is a plus. Cloud Platforms: Experience managing and optimizing databases on Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in Power Shell, Python, or Shell scripting for automation and process improvement. Monitoring Tools: Experience with Grafana, Datadog, Cloud Watch, or Prometheus for performance monitoring and alerting. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Minimum 5+ years of experience in Database Administration, including at least 2 years working in cloud environments. Experience with database backup, recovery, and replication strategies. Familiarity with Dev Ops, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Ia C) tools is an advantage. Cloud certifications such as: AWS Certified Database – Specialty, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer — are highly preferred.
