About Function/Department
Results and Market Development (RMD) represents the circulation arm of the organisation. The RMD department also focuses on generating sales and increasing readership for BCCL publications. The function begins from mail room packing and dispatch right up to delivering the newspaper to the reader. It is responsible for enabling more and better audience aggregation and for driving newer revenue streams from reader engagement. This is done by reaching out to different segments and expanding the horizons onto new ventures.
About the Position
To ensure dispatch of all company publications from the assigned mailroom at company-owned and external presses, for circulation in a timely and accurate manner.
Areas of Responsibility
Handling dispatch operations for a designated mailroom within the schedules allotted mainly in Night shifts. Checking and ensuring accuracy in packing of bundles for vendor. Dealing with labour to handle dispatches from the mailroom. Dealing with Drivers and Transporters for deliveries. Negotiation with transporters for rates. Handling day to day Transportation. Compiling data for daily reports of activities of the mailroom and Data analysis & cost optimization. Daily morning delivery – on time in full (OTIF) in a complex matrix situation with large volume. Route maximization and optimization. Handling of large number of transporters – negotiation skills with labour. Experience and expertise in managing morning delivery channels. Experience of working in modern delivery organizations like – E-commerce. Working in matrix reporting structure and intern-personal skill set is must. Basic Transactional Knowledge of SAP.
