Description

As part of the ConUAT Delivery team we are looking for a production support, site reliability engineering lead that can manage the day-to-day operations of the E2E controlled UAT client testing ecosystem.This role will have three main responsibilities, managing & supporting the pre-production client testing ecosystem which includes analysis, investigation and resolution of environment related incidents and problems. Managing and supporting the SDLC process and related tasks. Leading team members that will be providing site reliability engineering, improving what we do on a day-to-day basis, e.g. automating manual repetitive operational, housekeeping and maintenance tasks. Working with the team to drive and conduct advanced troubleshooting of environment/database/application issues and batch job failures, escalating to and liaising with development teams where necessary. Manage the quality of our support documentation, ensuring that everything the team does is documented. Review Health Checks & Monitoring, ensuring they are fit for purpose, automating to the extent possible Identify issues that are due to application or data issues, highlight and escalate accordingly. Implementing Continuous Integration, Delivery, and Deployment Following Infrastructure as Code principles Sharing your knowledge with other team members to cross pollinate skills. Participating and driving all agile ceremonies including a scrum master for our daily stand up Ensuring that we systematically automate and optimize all manual repetitive tasks Support and work alongside cross-functional engineering team on the latest technologies Iterate on best practices to increase the quality & velocity of the team. Ensure we have on-call responsibilities scheduled for all Holiday’s. Provide continuous service improvement. Your Skills & Experience 12+ years of large IT organisation experience working in a support environment (production), supporting mission critical complex transactional systems utilizing a large number of technologies. Previous experience providing application/environment support. 5+ years of previous experience managing medium sized technology teams. Extensive experience with assessing problems without having to follow documented instructions / rely on SMEs, break them down into constituent parts and direct the required remediation actions. Experience or exposure to any or all of the following technologies a plusLinux OS and scriptingJava developmentAnsible/YAML scriptingGeneos/New Relic or similar monitoring tools Oracle databaseSQL PL/SQLITIL frameworkExperience of working with offshore and outsourced teamsProven project management deliveryUsing agile methodologies and practices Proven delivery track record. Communication – Fluent English (written/verbal) with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively across the Bank.
