Role: Technical Program Manager

Location: Bengaluru, Mumbai, NCR
Principal Accountabilities:
- Work independently with Engineering team(s) to successfully deliver cross-functional programs (from inception to completion) that are of a high quality (e.g., secure, testable, maintainable, low-defects, etc.).
- Partner with Engineering Managers to secure resources, scope technical efforts, set project priorities, milestones, and drive delivery to meet a deadline.
- Able to transform raw thoughts into clear technical documentation and/or direction.
- Assume overall delivery responsibility for large cross-functional projects and lead end-to-end from inception through to delivery.
- Keep the scope of engineering efforts under control and accelerate progress by driving crisp and timely decisions, identifying and clearing blockers, and escalating appropriately.
- Be a change agent: identifying and implementing ways to improve processes and remove bottlenecks too. Identify opportunities for business process and system improvements and collaborate with stakeholders on design of new solutions that will enhance business performance and achieve specified goals.
- Evaluate existing processes and procedures. Make recommendations and drive process improvement and adoption methodologies (processes, tools, etc.) to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Own the communication of project status. Regularly impart clear and concise summaries for the projects you own to your leadership/management team and are effective in answering questions in detail.
- Be an agile coach and mentor: Participating in daily agile activities and acting as an advisor to support teams to increase efficiency and productivity and ensuring the right features are designed and delivered on time with the highest quality. Follow the agile scrum process to organize and facilitate sprint ceremonies like daily stand-ups, sprint demos and retrospectives at the end of each sprint.
- Facilitate and participated in Sprint planning, design, and estimation. Monitor the Sprint Burndown and conduct daily stand up, encouraging open communication in the team.
- Facilitate the team to estimate story points and measure velocity to plan future sprints.
- Effectively handle change and risk, collaborate with colleagues to ensure the right decisions are made at the right time, appropriate communication occurs, and plans are intelligently adjusted to reflect vital fluctuations in goals and requirements.
Skills, Experience & Technical Knowledge required:
- 5+ years of technology work experience worked as a developer or QA with 2+ years as program manager or scrum master in product or service-based companies, a mix of early and mature stage company experience is a plus. Experience in EdTech or learning companies is a big plus.
- Experience with scrum techniques and hands-on understanding of the intricacies of managing work in a large technology team. Scrum certification would be preferred.
- Technical understanding to work effectively with product team and engineers to decide on different SDLC paths.
- Effective decision maker and can help teams understand rationale and reasons for the decisions and roadmap direction.
- Experience with development methodologies and tactics for roadmap, backlog and development management are required.
- Customer focus and ability to demonstrate intuition, customer feedback and data to rapidly test and validate products and features.
- Ambitious and not afraid to tackle unknowns, demonstrates a strong bias to action. Ability to align efforts of disparate groups to achieve a common goal.
- Thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. Self-starter, independent and excellent at driving teams and projects.
- Excellent speaking, writing, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to persuade, encourage, and empower others.
