We're seeking a highly motivated Research Analyst – Agriculture Markets to join our team and play a key role in the success of our AI One product. You'll leverage your expertise in agricultural market research and data analysis to contribute to product development, inform strategic decisions, and stay ahead of industry trends. 

This role includes industry-leading skills training and learning opportunities and has excellent career development potential for thought leadership, power modelling and strategy roles in the agriculture industry. 


Key Responsibilities:  

Research (60%) 

  • Passionate about market research especially related to the agriculture sector and the broader agriculture business. 
  • Conduct in-depth market research on specific agricultural products, analyzing market dynamics, international trade flows, and supply chains. Utilize a variety of sources, including news, reports, company websites, industry publications, and stakeholder dialogues. 
  • Develop and prepare insightful and well-structured Detailed Trade Reports and detailed Market Reports for the consulting clients, providing valuable perspectives on various agricultural commodities and market trends. 
  • Present research findings effectively to internal stakeholders like product and R&D teams, driving innovation and product improvement. 
  • Actively participate in strengthening our AI One product with your research and analytical skills. Deliver high-quality market insights and reports to inform product development and enhance the AI One product as a whole. 
  • Establish yourself as a thought leader by continually analyzing the global agricultural market landscape, including supply chain dynamics and trade patterns.  

Data Management (30%) 

  • Gather, track, and analyze market data related to global agricultural markets. 
  • Hone your data management and market forecasting expertise by learning Python programming. 
  • Become a core user of SQL databases, ensuring best practices are applied to utilize, maintain, and optimize AI One databases. 
  • Fulfil data requests accurately and efficiently, adhering to established procedures and best practices. Utilize your data manipulation skills to extract valuable insights for analysis. 
  • Hands on experience in writing and manipulating the data through Python scripts and SQL queries.  

Agile (10%) 

  • Work in an agile, collaborative manner with Data, Research, and Product teams to foster an environment of continuous improvement and incremental delivery. 
  • Develop good working relationships with Data colleagues, Research, and Product. 
  • Build strong working relationships across departments and share your specialist skills in market research and data analysis. 
  • Integrate seamlessly with our agile methodology, following Scrum practices throughout the organization.

 

Other Skills : 

  • Strong academic qualifications (degree in economics or in a field of relevance to the understanding of specific industries; e.g. agriculture, oil and gas, mining, utilities). Applicants with an understanding of the agriculture industry are in particular invited to apply, but this is not a requirement 
  • Proven research and analysis skills, two to four years of research experience is highly desirable 
  • High interest and aptitude for market analysis and a strong interest in agriculture sector.  
  • The ability to work as part of a team, achieving results and working effectively with colleagues in a collaborative manner. 
  • Creative and innovative thinking; the ability to develop and contribute to new ideas. 
  • Good organisation and planning skills, with the ability to manage your own workload.
