Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities• Conduct rigorous analysis and research, including competitive benchmarking (space, brands, SKUs), market insights, customer insights (i.e., surveys, loyalty analysis), vendor insight (i.e., cost structures, investment analysis) and extensive SKU/brand/vendor-level analysis (i.e., relative productivity, profitability, brand loyalty, SKU transferability, etc.).• Work with manager to develop category review documentation that highlights category insights that build into category strategies to grow market share.• Develop category CDTs (consumer decision trees) and benchmark share and growth by segment to rest of market that help inform our assortment strategies. • Run scenario assortment modeling based off member loyalty data that projects where volume will transfer to/walk and quantify impacts to sales/margins due to assortment changes. • Work cross functionally to validate and approve assortment strategies and anticipated financial impacts based off strategic decisions put forth. • Work with the Category Review team to develop "Ask" materials to be shared with vendors during negotiations.• Serve Merchant team as point person for all SKU based analytical research focused on assortment, sales, and cost.
