Education Advisor: Languages Position Type Catholic Education Office Commence Date 12 Jan 2026 to 05 Jan 2027 Employment Status Fixed Term / Contract FTE/Hours per week Part Time Subject(s)/Grade $141,517 - $147,257 full-time p.a (pro-rata for part-time) Role Details The Opportunity The Education Advisor: Languages  reports to the Manager: Curriculum, Assessment and Pedagogy and is responsible for supporting teachers, Leaders of Learning and School Quality and Performance Teams in meeting the outcomes of the South Australian Commission for Catholic Schools (SACCS) Strategy: Towards 2027: Expanding Horizons and Deeping Practices. The Education Advisor: Languages will have a strong knowledge and expertise in languages curriculum and will also demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the following: High Impact Instruction; SEQTA; Assessment; Technologies; Key Capabilities; Inclusive Education. The Education Advisor: Languages will demonstrate extensive knowledge of a range of pedagogical practices and will lead and inspire others to transform their practice to support the changing needs of our learners. The Education Advisor: Languages will work in close collaboration and partnership with the System Coaches: Curriculum, Assessment and Pedagogy. This is a part-time, 0.6FTE, 12-month contracted position, commencing at the beginning of 2026.  Salary range between $141,517 - $147,257 full-time p.a (pro-rata for part-time)  Key Responsibilities Design and facilitate innovative, responsive, evidence and research based professional learning to build teachers’ professional knowledge and capabilities to improve the learning outcomes of students across Early, Primary, Middle and Secondary years of schooling Responsibility in the implementation of the languages in Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum and will support teachers and school leaders to develop a deep understanding of the relationship between curriculum, assessment and pedagogy. Continue to build on the momentum of the Excellence and Equity: Deeping Practices document Work in and across all regions and will provide coaching to teachers and educators to meet the needs of all learners through the Australian Curriculum, learning design, assessment, moderation and reporting Work collaboratively to develop and improve resources for schools Provide contemporary pedagogical leadership and specialist expertise to enable pedagogical improvement within and across schools About You We are looking for an individual who has: A tertiary degree appropriate to this position of leadership and consultancy Teaching qualifications and current teacher registration in South Australia You will demonstrate a commitment to the ethos of catholic education and a knowledge and understanding of catholic schools High-level organisational skills with demonstrated ability to plan strategically, problem solve, prioritise, work to deadlines to achieve quality outcomes, give attention to detail and relate tasks/actions to a broader strategic improvement context High-level written and oral communication, interpersonal skills Why Join Us?
