The Role The role of Early Childhood Consultant belongs to the Early Childhood Education and Care team in the Teaching and Learning directorate. We have 5 office campuses across the state and this role will be based at our West Leederville office. The primary accountabilities of this role include: Support school and system initiatives aligned with Quality Catholic Education and CECWA’s Strategic Directions. Lead, support and implement school and system initiatives aligned with CEWA’s Vision for Learning and Early Years Learning Framework towards informing good practice within Early Childhood. Support school leadership and staff to build understandings of Early Childhood learning and development and build knowledge to implement appropriate Early Childhood pedagogical skills. Work in collaboration with other CEWA consultants in building capacity in the area of Early Childhood. Work in collaboration with Religious Education consultants in ensuring a Catholic worldview informs the curriculum. Support school leadership teams to establish and support professional learning within their schools. Support schools in ensuring the successful implementation of the National Quality Standards. Support schools with their understanding and implementation of Preschool Reform Agreement (PRA) programs and initiatives. Collaborate with the Early Childhood Education and Care Team to develop PRA programs and initiative resources and professional learning experiences. Support school leadership and staff to interpret and utilise school and system student academic data. Plan, coordinate and facilitate professional learning and networking opportunities within the Early Childhood Sector. Model and support the use of digital technologies in enhancing the teaching and learning within Early Childhood. Maintain effective partnerships with other education systems and organisations and provide representation that will inform future planning and provide advocacy for Catholic Education Western Australia. Maintain knowledge, understanding and practical application of current research, policies, and pedagogical developments. Other duties as directed by the Team Leader, Early Childhood Education and Care & Director, Teaching and Learning. Selection Criteria ESSENTIAL: Prepared to support the Catholic ethos in the performance of their duties. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education. Demonstrate recent exemplary Early Childhood classroom experience. Demonstrate recent successful leadership of ECE pedagogical practices at a school level. Knowledge and excellent understanding of pedagogical practices within Early Childhood. Excellent understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standard. Excellent knowledge of current issues, initiatives and research within Early Childhood. Excellent practical and theoretical experience with data analysis. Capacity to work with school leaders, teachers and cross sector partners. Highly developed organisational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team. Ability to show initiative and be proactive. Highly developed skills in digital technologies. Experience in delivering quality professional learning. Capacity to develop and maintain strong professional relationships.
