PDP - Senior Piping Checker (Contractual)

Job Summary :In this role, you will plan, develop, and review Plant Design & Piping (PD&P) work, produce drawings and documentation, and prepare design estimates for a project. You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review and approve drawings, calculations, and bid summaries. You will solve complex technical issues and ensure PD&P designs comply with all regulations and standards.  Major Responsibilities: Applies standard engineering methods and adapts techniques independently to perform systems design tasks of moderate complexity. Handles assignments with defined objectives, investigates limited variables, and supports small design teams in planning and schedule coordination. Reviews and checks layouts, CAD models, and construction drawings for compliance with design standards, ensuring quality and safety. Manages the complete isometrics program for projects, including revision control and coordination. Conducts jobsite visits to resolve issues, interpret documents, and assess engineering scope changes. Prepares progress reports and fosters a collaborative, innovative work environment. Participates in equipment/system design, drawing reviews, vendor data evaluation, and material quantity assessments. Uses CAD/CAE tools, reviews manufacturer documents, assists in training, and collaborates across disciplines and with external stakeholders. Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) Work experience in Piping Senior Layout role for OG&C, Semiconductor, Data Center, Power or M&M industry with minimum of 20 years overall experience Required Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to the discipline’s design responsibilities. Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, design criteria and codes relevant to the discipline. Knowledge of discipline Design Guides, mathematical formulae and design calculations used in the discipline. Knowledge of 3D/2D tools applicable to the specific discipline work SP3D/SPR/Navisworks). The above is normally acquired through: Specialized courses in drafting, design and engineering practices and CAD, OR A recognized Diploma/Degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, AND Extensive experience in design and drafting. Technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and construction methods and materials, and application of computer aided engineering (CAE)/computer aided design (CAD) tools to engineering problems. Basic skill in oral and written communication.
