Role Description

Kimbal is looking for a seasoned and Strategic HR Business Partner (HRBP) to partner closely with the Engineering & Tech Leadership Team in building and scaling a high-performing organization. With ~200+ engineers and specialists, this role plays a pivotal part in aligning people strategy with business goals—enabling growth through talent, performance, and cultural impact.

As the HRBP, you will act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to engineering leaders, driving initiatives that shape how teams perform, grow, and thrive. You will lead the performance management agenda anchored in OKRs, ensure workforce planning and succession readiness, and strengthen engagement by connecting purpose with employee experience. This role also calls for a balance of strategic vision and operational excellence—seamlessly managing HR processes, ensuring compliance, and serving as a coach to managers through change and transformation.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership (Primary Focus)

  • Act as a strategic partner to Engineering & Tech leaders, contributing to business discussions.
  • Align people strategies with business objectives to drive organizational effectiveness.

Performance & OKRs

  • Lead performance management cycles using OKR methodology.
  • Ensure clarity of goals, regular feedback, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Embed OKRs into daily operations, track progress, and support course corrections.

Talent Strategy

  • Drive workforce planning, succession planning, and career development initiatives.
  • Ensure the right people are in the right roles at the right time.

Engagement & Culture

  • Design and implement initiatives that strengthen engagement and employee experience.
  • Connect purpose, performance, and culture to build a high-performing environment.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee seamless execution of HR processes (onboarding, exits, internal moves).
  • Ensure compliance with policies, legal requirements, and organizational standards.

Coaching & Change Management

  • Act as a coach and advisor to people managers.
  • Support leaders during team transitions, organizational change, and performance challenges.

Job Requirements

Experience: 6–8 years of HRBP experience, preferably in engineering, product, or R&D setups.

Educational Background: Degree in Engineering (B.E/B.Tech) or demonstrated HRBP experience supporting engineering/tech teams. (MUST HAVE)
