Position Overview: The Manufacturing Plant Head is responsible for overseeing the entire plant operations, ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining safety standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires strategic planning, leadership, and collaboration across various departments to achieve operational excellence, cost efficiency, and high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, supply chain, and logistics to ensure seamless functioning and achieve production targets.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term strategies for the plant to improve productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of department heads, supervisors, and plant employees, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Budgeting & Cost Management: Prepare and manage the plant's annual budget, control operational costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to quality standards and implement processes to maintain product quality, minimizing defects and waste.
  • Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and implementing best practices in safety protocols.
  • Process Optimization: Identify areas for process improvement, drive lean manufacturing initiatives, and implement automation and technology to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Inventory & Supply Chain Management: Manage inventory levels, coordinate with suppliers, and optimize supply chain processes to ensure timely availability of raw materials and efficient production schedules.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies, to maintain strong relationships and address any operational challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing plant.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven experience in managing budgets, driving cost efficiencies, and achieving production targets.
  • In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in a manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to drive change, influence others, and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making abilities.
