Role & responsibilities

The Preventive Maintenance Head is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring preventive and predictive maintenance programs across all sections of the integrated cement plant (Mines, Crusher, Raw Mill, Kiln, Cooler, Cement Mill, Packing Plant, Utilities, and WHRS). The objective is to maximize equipment availability, improve reliability, reduce breakdowns, and optimize maintenance costs while adhering to safety and statutory compliance.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance schedule for all plant equipment and machinery
  • Coordinate with operations, production, and maintenance teams to plan equipment downtime with minimal impact on production.
  • Ensure PM schedules are uploaded and tracked in CMMS / SAP PM module.
  • Implement and monitor predictive maintenance programs using tools like vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasonic testing, etc.
  • Analyze equipment health data and recommend corrective actions before failure.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for repetitive failures and implement permanent solutions.
  • Standardize maintenance practices, checklists, and SOPs for critical equipment.
  • Drive reliability initiatives such as TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance).
  • Ensure availability of critical spares by coordinating with the stores and procurement team.
  • Optimize inventory levels to balance cost and plant reliability.
  • Prepare annual preventive maintenance budget and monitor adherence.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through improved maintenance practices and energy-efficient solutions.
