Head – Business Development (Robotic Welding & Automation)

Reporting to the Managing Director

Position Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned leader to spearhead turnkey automation and robotic welding projects across diverse sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute long-term business development strategies for BIW automation, robotic welding, and advanced industrial solutions.
  • Pursue new markets in EV, off-highway, agri, and construction sectors to expand revenue streams.
  • Lead and mentor a Proposal Team and Business Development Assistant to enhance their skills and productivity.
  • Nurture strategic partnerships with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and industry stakeholders across various vehicle and equipment segments.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for top-tier clients, understanding their technical and commercial needs, negotiating contracts, and ensuring repeat business.
  • Lead high-level contract negotiations to secure profitable terms aligned with the company's financial targets and growth objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination & Reporting
  • Stay updated on industry trends to anticipate customer needs and inform product/service enhancements.
  • Own revenue and margin targets, tracking sales performance across different segments.
  • Maintain accurate forecasts, pipelines, and budget plans to achieve short-term and long-term financial goals.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering or related field. An MBA or equivalent in Marketing/Business is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development or strategic sales in robotic welding, BIW, or industrial automation projects.
  • Demonstrated success in managing teams, closing large-scale deals, and expanding market presence across multiple vehicle/equipment segments.
  • Proficiency in robotic welding systems (ABB, KUKA, Fanuc, Panasonic), welding fixtures, and BIW assembly processes.
  • Familiarity with line expansions, Greenfield project setups, and Industry 4.0 applications.
  • Established relationships with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and relevant industry partners, preferably across commercial, passenger, two-wheeler, agricultural, and construction equipment sectors.
