Position Overview -

Seeking a Head of Business Development to spearhead turnkey automation and robotic welding projects spanning commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, agricultural equipment, and construction machinery. This leadership role requires Established Professional Network in the BIW, welding automation, and industrial manufacturing sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Formulate and execute long-term business development strategies targeting BIW automation, robotic welding, and advanced industrial solutions.
  2. Identify and penetrate new markets (e.g., EV, off-highway, agri, and construction sectors) to diversify and increase revenue streams.
  3. Lead, mentor, and manage a Proposal Team and a Business Development Assistant, ensuring their professional growth and productivity.
  4. Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and industry stakeholders across multiple vehicle and equipment segments.
  5. Serve as the primary liaison for top-tier clients—understanding their technical and commercial requirements, negotiating contracts, and ensuring repeat business.
  6. Lead high-level contract negotiations, ensuring profitable terms aligned with the company's financial targets and growth objectives.
  7. Cross-Functional Coordination & Reporting
  8. Stay current on industry trends (e.g., electric mobility, Industry 4.0,collaborative robotics) to anticipate customer needs and inform product/service enhancements.
  9. Own revenue and margin targets, tracking sales performance across different segments (commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, etc.).
  10. Maintain accurate forecasts, pipelines, and budget plans—continuously optimizing strategies to achieve short-term and long-term financial goals.

Qualifications & Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering or related field. MBA or equivalent in Marketing/Business is preferred.
  2. 5+ years in business development or strategic sales in robotic welding, BIW,or industrial automation projects.
  3. Demonstrated success in managing teams, closing large-scale deals, and expanding market presence across multiple vehicle/equipment segments.
  4. Proficiency in robotic welding systems (ABB, KUKA, Fanuc, Panasonic),welding fixtures, and BIW assembly processes.
  5. Familiarity with line expansions, Greenfield project setups, and Industry 4.0 applications.
  6. Established relationships with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and relevant industry partners (e.g., engineering consultants, technology providers), preferably across commercial, passenger, two-wheeler, agricultural, and construction equipment sectors.
