This position sits centrally and works across multiple business units, partnering directly with operational and corporate stakeholders to identify efficiencies, streamline reporting, and drive informed commercial decision-making. With the organisation undergoing transformation and increased demand for analytical rigour, this role plays a key part in enabling accurate budgeting, forecasting, and performance insights. The role reports to the Manager of Business Partnering and operates alongside a team of 7–8 experienced Finance Business Partners. Key Responsibilities Act as a roaming commercial analyst across business units, supporting ad hoc projects that improve operational and financial performance. Partner with Finance Business Partners to gather and consolidate budgets, forecasts, and operational insights. Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, efficiencies, and commercial opportunities. Prepare and deliver clear, compelling commercial insights to senior stakeholders to support strategic and operational decisions. Provide commercial modelling support for business cases and project evaluations. Assist with the month-end process where required, bringing a general accounting lens to commercial analysis. Build strong internal relationships across finance and operations to deepen understanding of business drivers. About You We are seeking a commercially focused analyst with strong stakeholder capability who can operate confidently across multiple teams and shifting priorities. Essential Background in accounting, management accounting, or finance business partnering. Strong commercial acumen — ability to interpret numbers, challenge assumptions, and uncover efficiencies. Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Excellent communication skills — able to present findings clearly and influence decision makers. Comfortable working in a project-based, fast-paced environment with varied deliverables. Desirable Experience in energy, utilities, mining, or heavy industry environments. Exposure to planning tools (TM1, Onestream, Anaplan, Hyperion, etc.). Ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders. Why This Opportunity?
