Roles &Responsibilities
Job Purpose
The primary roleof the person is to optimize the available allocation from Oceancarriers to maximize revenue yield from existing business. The roleis required to
monitor all agreed carrier contracts forenforceable and nonenforceable allocations to ensure originsoptimize the utilization at alltimes.
Primaryfunction:
Seek opportunitiesto improve productivity across the Ocean commercial and operationalfunctions (incl. supervisor level) for example bysystematically
applying Business Allocation methods andtools
Ability to manage the optimized load planningrules are followed and directed to the vendors
Awarenessof the CFS (Buyer Consolidation process ) and manage theinformation flow and operational execution of the ocean freightstuffing/milestone tracking from CFS operations
Familiarity of the booking process and liaison with freightforwarder for the shipment execution.
Document control :timely document collection and checks/ balance as per the controlpoints agreed.
Work cross functionally with other GEO (origin / destination ) for the origin / destinationresponsibilities seamlessly for the customer experience
Work with Country Head to identify optimization requirements andopportunities
Work with Global Account Manager to advisealign and prioritize opportunities
Drive processes andtools into countries
Own business cases forimplementation and value realization across the Region
Promote and support a culture and discipline of ContinuousImprovement.
Manage proactively all regional oceanoperational and process excellence related projects regardingresource planning skills management problem resolution andcommunication on progress and issues to regionalmanagement
Support portfolio management of programs /projects from business perspective regarding overall harmonizationof the program / project deliverables description of scopeobjectives benefits prerequisites and dependencies and projectcontrolling / benefit tracking (Project ManagementOffice)
Liaise with carriers ocean space capacity inorder to drive utilization and performance.
SuperviseAllocation Management between Origin Destination and TradeManagement Team.
Ensure correct utilization of selectedcarriers for the said trade.
Assess and prioritizecustomers' allocations and routing based on theplanning.
KeyTasks:
Enforce compliance of planned allocationoptimally for all origins.
Ensure visibility of carrierallocation usage by regular reporting.
Drive carrierdiscussions on allocation compliance and regular allocationplanning.
Set up and follow escalation processes forenforcing compliance and driving improvements.
SupportManagement team through the carrier allocation structure andoverview.
Supervise training of origin countries onallocation compliance and monitoring.
Operationalcontrol on key deliverables for thecustomer
Decision MakingAuthority:
Steering cargoconsidering ocean carrier commitments.
Ensuring of themilestone updates in the T & T system
Escalationto Country Heads Regional Trade teams
Control andmonitor noncompliance and lack of improvements.
Reporting overview to senior management on regularbasis.
Skills/Qualifications
Must haveat least 35 years' experience in Ocean Freight Forwardingmanagement
Strong analytical and conceptualcapabilities
Good communication and leadership skills asthe role requires frequent communication to various directions andall management levels
Allocation and tools knowledge andexperience in their application
Good ocean carriersrelationship and engagement
Result & solutionorientated
Team player whilst also being aselfstarter
Strong presentation and communicationskills
Strong negotiation skills
Tertiaryeducation
Excellent MS Office skills (MS Excel MSPowerPoint)
