Expecting More.Our Values: Leadership | Community | Integrity | Agility | Diversity JOB POSITION We are looking for an experienced Kafka Admin Lead to manage, optimize, and scale our enterprise-grade Kafka ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Kafka architecture, cluster administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting, along with the ability to lead a small team and collaborate cross-functionally with application, DevOps, and platform engineering teams. JOB RESPONSIBILITY Lead Kafka administration and operations for multiple clusters across environments (Dev, QA, Prod). Design and implement Kafka cluster setup, configuration, monitoring, and performance tuning. Manage Kafka brokers, topics, partitions, schemas, and ACLs. Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and data replication strategies. Perform upgrades, patches, and maintenance on Kafka and related components (Zookeeper, Schema Registry, Kafka Connect, KRaft, etc.). Develop and enforce Kafka governance and security policies, including RBAC, SSL, and SASL. Set up and manage monitoring, alerting, and metrics dashboards using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Confluent Control Center. Work closely with developers and DevOps teams for integration, CI/CD, and capacity planning. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Kafka producers/consumers, lag monitoring, and message delivery. Lead and mentor a small team of Kafka administrators/engineers. Drive automation using scripts (Python, Bash, or Ansible) for cluster provisioning and management. Collaborate with architects to define Kafka data streaming strategy and align with enterprise standards. QUALIFICATION Minimum education: B.Tech degree/MCA with computer science background or equivalent experience,  Preferred education: BE/B.Tech/MCA EXPERIENCE 7+ years of overall IT experience, with 3+ years dedicated to Kafka administration. Strong understanding of Kafka internals — brokers, partitions, topics, producers/consumers, and offsets. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Hands-on experience with Confluent Kafka or Apache Kafka open-source. Expertise in Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, and Kafka Streams. Proficient in Linux system administration and shell scripting. Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, ELK). Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience working in cloud environments (AWS / GCP / Azure). Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Experience in automation and infrastructure-as-code tools preferred (Terraform, Ansible).
