Role Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Technical Artist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of years of production-level experience in designing VR-based solutions. As a Technical Artist at MadVR Solutions, you will bridge the gap between artists and developers, ensuring our VR experiences are visually stunning and technically sound.
Key Responsibilities:
- Asset Integration: Collaborate with 3D artists and developers to integrate art assets into the Unity engine, ensuring optimal performance and visual fidelity.
- Shader Development: Create and optimize shaders for VR applications to enhance the visual quality of our products.
- Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance issues related to assets, shaders, and rendering in VR environments.
- Tool Development: Develop and maintain tools and scripts to streamline the production pipeline and improve workflow efficiency.
- Technical Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to art and animation within the VR environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with artists, designers, and developers to ensure the artistic vision is achieved while maintaining technical feasibility.
- Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for art asset integration, shader usage, and performance optimization techniques.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of production-level experience in designing VR-based solutions.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in Unity, Maya, Blender, or similar 3D software. Strong knowledge of shader programming and optimization.
Skills
- Strong understanding of real-time rendering and performance optimization techniques.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, C#, or similar.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing your technical artistry in VR projects is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with medical or educational VR applications.
- Knowledge of PBR (Physically Based Rendering) workflows.
- Familiarity with VR hardware and peripherals.
