Our D&E Application Engineer, plays a key role in regards to the growth plan and company development function in regards to machining activities of the company. He is responsible for developing new products, engineering the manufacturing process, and taking crucial decisions on machine selection and cell setups for product categories closely aligned to the company's vision, mission and strategic direction. He brings and develops the technical machining competence for the company. Use advanced manufacturing techniques to manufacture parts. Understand tool design and tool management, develop and manage tooling strategy for part production.

Qualification: BE Mechanical, M-Tech Mechanical
Experience: 10 -25  Years, with passion towards advanced manufacturing and product development.
Hands on experience in working on Critical component Machining.
The role you will play
Product Development
Engage with customers directly and in correspondence with marketing to understand product requirements.
Engage with marketing teams during the product quotation process to customers.
Develop strategies to guide marketing to select products that align with companies vision / mission and strategic direction.
Contribute actively during the product development process and be responsible for key decisions and execution.
Engage and develop vendors associated with product development when necessary  - Tooling, fixture development etc.
Contribute towards quality documentation development and its adherence in the shopfloor - APQP,

Develop and oversee a motivated team focused on delivering value, guiding them in line with organizational values in the manufacturing engineering department.
Guide and lead the team to enhance team morale, through personal productivity improvements and structured approach of daily works management promoting collaboration across functions in the company.
Establish Manufacturing Rigor - Demonstrate the importance of discipline by establishing strict standards within the team and business processes.
What you bring to the table
Technical expertise in the field of machining, machine tools and cutting tools.  Technical application of process engineering.
Knowledge of machining concepts like milling, turning, grinding, drilling. 3 Axis, 4 Axis and 5 Axis machining.
Tooling -  Design of special cutting tools like reamer, PCD Cutters,  Boring Bar, Milling Cutters.
Technical writing and technical documentation capability - APQP, Production Documentation.
Analytical and problem solving ability.
Prior experience in Establishing quality and reliability standards by studying product and customer requirements for critical industries such as automotive, hydraulics, aerospace etc - Control Plan, PFMEA
Prior experience in Method Study, Time study and Reporting ( Value Stream Mapping, Elemental analysis of Machining process )
Prior experience in Estimation and costing - Cycle Time, Consumable Costs
Prior experience in Training Module for Operators, work skill development.
Good know-how knowledge on Assembly and manufacturing of Tools and Jigs & Fixtures.
Well versed with:
2D to 3D.
Proficiency of working with CAD and CAM software like Master CAM, PowerMill etc
Computer Numerical Control - Programming knowledge of Turning / Milling SPMS, proficiency / prior experience in Fanuc , Siemens controls.

Experience / Knowledge of Mechanical engineering particularly Machine tools, Cutting tools, hydraulics component manufacturing, Tooling know-how, Automotive and have hands-on experience of working with machines.
