  • Centre for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (CSDE): exists to enable underprivileged youth to lead flourishing lives
  • Centre for Rural Development (CRD): exists to enable families to come out of extreme poverty
  • Centre for Social Innovation (CSI): exists to nudge top talent to solve India’s biggest challenges

What are we solving for in the End Ultra Poverty program?

End Ultra Poverty (EUP) program is solving for households in ultra-poverty through a targeted, multi-faceted and sequenced model called the graduation approach, which has demonstrated that ultra-poverty can be conquered.

At The/Nudge we have been piloting this program for the past 3 years and are in the process of catalysing propagation of the same. Our purpose is to contribute to ending ultra-poverty in India. EUP will:

  • continue to implement on its own to iterate the design for impact at scale
  • enable more NGOs to adopt technical and capacity-building support
  • enable govt to adopt by providing research, design, and implementation support
  • continue to generate data on ultra-poverty and evidence on graduation approach to nudge governments to adopt at-scale
  • build technology solutions for NGOs and governments to adopt and implement at scale & with quality.

Position Overview: 

We seek an experienced, highly driven individual who can work in a fast-paced environment with a good balance of content research and curriculum design.  The ideal candidate will have a background in creating training materials in the development sector and a keen interest in Instruction Design and Adult Learning. They should possess content creation and management skills, a background in rural community training projects in India, and an understanding of poverty alleviation


Responsibilities


  • Learning Need Assessment: Able to evaluate programme & participant's learning needs.
  • Content Development: Researching, writing, and reviewing content in different formats (learner resources, training sessions and modules, refresher modules, assessments, etc.) based on core learning design principles and andragogy for the field staff.
  • Session Plan Design: Designing training sessions basis the needs & results
  • Content review and editing: Fact-checking against credible sources, collecting information from papers, books and field staff.
  • Collaboration: Brainstorm on the design of learning material with the creative team.Liaising with experts, consultants and internal stakeholders for content, design, and other support.
  • Best Practice: Keep up-to-date with emerging and trending best practices in processes and tools.
  • Knowledge Assessment: Able to Design, pilot & scale up.
  • Any other work that may be assigned from time to time.
  • Field observations from time to time - To understand the effectiveness of the content designed and make changes where necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A graduate/ postgraduate degree in Social Sciences / Sustainability Studies/ Education / Communications.
  • A background in Education or Instructional Design is preferable.
  • A minimum experience of 4 years in creating content.
  • A demonstrable ability to create content to suit a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent English language skills.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint/Google Slides) along with basic Excel
  • Experience developing educational modules and training materials or teaching or conducting workshops on-ground is desirable. Understanding pedagogy/andragogy will be a bonus.
  • Should be prepared to travel for regular short periods for field research.
  • Experience in Rural Development is a plus.
  • Understanding the Monitoring & Evaluation framework is a plus.
