Job Title: Centre Head (CH) Cyber Security Centre of Excellence

Basic Qualifications (Mandatory)

  • BE/ B.Tech in any discipline from a University/Institution/Board recognized by Govt. of India/approved by Govt. Regulatory bodies. OR
  • MCA/ M.E./ M.Tech/ M.Sc in any discipline from a University/Institution/Board recognized by Govt. of India/approved by Govt. Regulatory bodies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Cybersecurity or Information Technology.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, PMP, or MBA (Technology Management).

Experience (Mandatory)

  • 20+ years overall experience, with 810 years in IT, Cybersecurity, IT Security Innovation, Cyber/Industry Research, or IT Project Management.
  • Proven experience in establishing or managing a Centre of Excellence (CoE).

Experience (Preferred)

  • Deep understanding of Banking & Financial Services Industry (BFSI) regulations and compliance, including but not limited to:

  • RBI Cybersecurity Framework

  • SEBI Cybersecurity Guidelines
  • Data Protection Laws
  • PCI-DSS / NIST Frameworks

  • Other regulatory requirements in BFSI

  • Experience in BFSI IT/Security projects is highly desirable.

  • Experience working with or managing multi-stakeholder environments (Government, Academia, Industry).

The Centre Head must demonstrate strong leadership, strategic vision, and technical expertise to establish and manage the Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence.

  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate cross-functional teams of cybersecurity professionals.
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to operate under pressure.
  • Strategic mindset to align CoE objectives with SBI's organizational goals.
  • Ethical awareness and strong moral compass to uphold values of public service, ethics, and integrity.

Technical & Program Management Skills

  • Expertise in cybersecurity technologies, frameworks, and advanced security concepts.
  • Ability to guide and manage research & innovation-driven programs.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity policy, technology disruptions, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in program management principles, project planning, and execution.

Interpersonal & Communication Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present complex cybersecurity concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders across Government, Academia, and Industry.
  • Customer & Citizen-centric mindset with focus on innovation and security posture enhancement.

Role Objective

The Centre Head will:

  • Own and drive the Cyber Security Centre of Excellence operations.
  • Lead innovation, research, and program execution aligned with SBI's cybersecurity objectives.
  • Ensure research projects, policies, and practices strengthen SBI's cyber resilience.
  • Serve as a thought leader in cybersecurity, fostering collaboration across internal teams, regulatory bodies, and external partners.
