We are looking to strengthen our global tableau services team with a senior tableau developer. In this role, you will take on a wide range of responsibilities varying from the development of new Tableau products and providing support on a portfolio of existing Tableau products & community activities.

Role : Senior Tableau developer and data visualization specialist at Randstad Global IT


Your typical day could include :


1. Start by checking your mail and updating your tickets on the team's Jira board. This way you are fully prepared for the team's stand-up at 10 am CET.


2. On today's agenda in the morning is a requirements session with a stakeholder for a new dashboard. You go through final checks with all the relevant stakeholders and the Global Tableau team to confirm the requirements. You update the Jira ticket and plan time in your calendar to start the development work in the next couple of days.


3. During the afternoon you have a data doctor session with a Tableau creator in the US on optimizing a dashboard from a performance perspective. There's also an urgent ticket in Jira about two users from Australia who have lost access to a P&L dashboard you have previously developed. The users recently moved to a new org in Randstad. You suspect the row-level security rule in the data source needs to be updated. You have booked one hour of focused time in your calendar to troubleshoot this request.

4. You didn't finish all the work planned for today. As a follow-up to the data doctor request you have to document recommendations for improving the performance of the dashboard. After an initial investigation into the access issue request for the P&L dashboard, you did not find the solution for the users. You have booked a call with them for tomorrow to get this resolved.

This is a role in a highly dynamic international environment. You'll have to work closely with Randstad's many operating companies across the globe. Therefore you'll be busy building an international network of colleagues across the Randstad organization.

You will be responsible and accountable for :

- The end-to-end process of development in Tableau

- Collaborate with the relevant stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into effective Tableau solutions

- Analyze the business requirements and identify required data to ensure that the Tableau solution meets the business needs

- Analyze requirements for performance, maintenance and scalability of the data source & dashboards

- Perform data validation to ensure data accuracy and completeness based on the requirements agreed with the stakeholders

- Design, develop, and maintain complex Tableau solutions that provide insightful analytics for decision-making

- Optimize existing Tableau dashboards for improved performance and user experience

- Follow the governance models & processes as agreed with the stakeholders

- Produce and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation to support users

- Engagement with Randstad and Tableau community events to stay current on the platform functionality and industry best practices to continually improve the quality and effectiveness of dashboards

- Become a Tableau champion within the internal Randstad Tableau community by actively getting involved in community events and contributing with content and ideas for improvement

- Support other Tableau creators at Randstad by answering questions on the internal Tableau channel and by leading 121 sessions with users similar to the Data Doctor program designed by Tableau

- Adhere to the Agile methodology that guides and structures the workflow within the global tableau team

- Understand the rationale/business reasons behind the Tableau Cloud site configuration and automation tool

- Raise, collaborate and implement ideas for automation to manage the scale of the Tableau solution

- Coach and mentor junior tableau developers

Your background :

- Significant experience, high proficiency and up-to-date knowledge in tableau desktop/ development (7+ years) - certification is not required but a plus

- Passionate about data & data visualization and how to leverage it to drive business growth

- Comprehensive understanding of user management, project structures and permissions models in Tableau Cloud and how to apply this to various security models

- Strong collaborative interpersonal skills and experience working across diverse, global teams

- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and documenting progress towards those deadlines

- Basic proficiency of working with JIRA, Confluence, or similar product management tools

- Srong problem-solving/troubleshooting skills

- Results oriented - strong sense of commitment to deliver great quality work

- Certifications in tableau or data visualization

- Participation in a Tableau community project (e.g.: MakeoverMonday) or Tableau events (virtual or in-person TUGs, TC)

- A Tableau Public profile where you have published your own visualizations
