Business Development Executive

IRC is a leading international logistics solutions provider with over 60 years of experience in freight forwarding, transportation, warehousing, and sustainable logistics. We aim to expand our footprint in the India-USA trade lane and seek a business development expert to drive growth, develop new client relationships, and maximize market potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Analysis & Opportunity Identification: - Conduct in-depth market research to identify business opportunities in the India-USA trade lane. - Assess competitors and key trends to understand growth potential and competitive advantages. - Client Acquisition & Relationship Building: - Identify and engage with new clients in key sectors like automotive, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, etc. - Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to increase volumes and secure long-term contracts. - Leverage IRC's network and existing relationships to open doors with US-based clients. - Sales & Negotiation: - Develop tailored sales strategies for each client, focusing on cost efficiency, improved transit times, and sustainable logistics solutions. - Negotiate pricing and service terms to ensure a competitive edge in the market. - Partnership & Strategic Alliances: - Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships with US-based freight forwarders, shipping lines, and third-party logistics providers. - Develop alliances with port operators, customs brokers, and other stakeholders involved in the India-USA trade lane. - Market Expansion & Revenue Growth: - Define and implement a business development roadmap to grow revenue from the India-USA trade lane. - Set monthly and quarterly targets for new business acquisition and market penetration. - Collaboration with Internal Teams: - Work closely with marketing, operations, and logistics teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction. - Provide insights on market needs, trends, and client feedback to improve service offerings.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: - At least 5-7 years of experience in business development or sales, specifically in international logistics or trade lanes (India-USA preferred). - Proven track record of client acquisition and sales growth in logistics and freight forwarding. - Expertise: - In-depth knowledge of the India-USA trade lane and understanding of shipping processes, regulations, and freight cost structures. - Familiarity with supply chain management and export/import regulations in both India and the USA. - Skills: - Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholders. - Proficiency in CRM tools, Microsoft Excel, and data analysis to track sales performance and identify growth opportunities. - Problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyze customer requirements and provide customized logistics solutions. - Education: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
