Job Description- Business Development Manager


Overview:

Midmark India is the largest manufacturer and most admired brand of medical furniture in India. In close collaboration with our customers and partners, we are the driving force for the better care environments in healthcare delivery sector.


We are looking for the makers of tomorrow – a hardworking individual ready to help Midmark India transform the healthcare delivery. The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and executing strategies to expand the business into untapped segments or markets. This role involves analyzing market trends, evaluating potential growth areas and establishing relationships to drive the company's presence and profitable revenue in new verticals and growth areas.


Key Responsibilities:

·        Market Analysis:

o  Research and analyze new product or market opportunities, including industry trends, competitors, and potential customer segments.

o  Identify gaps and untapped areas within different verticals for business expansion.

o  Market visits to have first-hand experience of challenges and opportunities.


·        Strategy Development:

o  Develop comprehensive business plans and strategies for penetrating new markets or verticals.

o  Evaluate potential acquisition candidates and prepare project proposals.

o  Ideate and propose product segments and verticals where the brand would be relevant and can leverage existing infrastructure and portfolio.

o  Create a roadmap for market entry, growth, and sustainability within identified areas.


·        Partnership and Relationship Building:

o  Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external, potential partners, and industry influencers within the new verticals.

o  Negotiate and establish partnerships that enable market entry and growth.

o  Attend industry exhibitions and events.


·        Sales and Revenue Generation:

o  Collaborate with the sales team to drive revenue generation in the new product and verticals.

o  Develop pricing strategies, promotional plans, and sales initiatives tailored to each vertical.

o  Monitor revenue and costs to ensure the project goals are met.

o  Support sales team technically and commercially.


·        Cross-functional Collaboration:

o  Work closely with various internal teams to align strategies and ensure successful implementation in new verticals.

o  Communicate effectively across departments to leverage resources and optimize business development efforts.

o  Collaborate with Marketing to create and drive Go to Market plan including marketing campaigns, narratives, collaterals and internal trainings.

o  Set up processes for seamless operations of new verticals.


·        Risk Management and Evaluation:

o  Assess potential risks and challenges associated with entering new segments/ markets.

o  Develop mitigation strategies and continually evaluate the performance and feasibility of the new verticals.

o  Maintain business contracts to ensure they meet legal and corporate guidelines.


Qualifications:

·        Experience of 10-15 years in business development, market expansion, or a similar role in healthcare, preferably in MedTech or capex medical equipment.

·        Demonstrated ability of project management, successful market penetration or new businesses.

·        MBA/ master’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field. B.E / BTech in (Mechanical/ Electronics/ Electrical) is a preferred add-on.

·        Knowledge of healthcare sector and market landscape in India.

·        Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

·        Adaptability and a proactive approach to changing market conditions.

·        Familiarity with CRM software and other business development tools.

·        Proficiency in creating business presentation documents.

·        An effective collaborator with leadership, problem solving and decision-making skills.

·        Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.

·        Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.



This role is based in Mumbai. It involves traveling in India as well as beyond.
