Job description

RILs newly created Distributed Renewables (RE) business intends to provide safe, reliable, affordable, and accessible distributed green energy solutions to Indias Business & Residential consumers. This requires best-in-class Operations & Maintenance team to manage and operate its assets at such large scale.

The Service Network Development Manager will be responsible for building and managing a robust network of service vendors across multiple states and regions. This role will ensure the highest standards of vendor performance and commercial efficiency, contributing to the overall operational success and customer satisfaction.

Reporting: Head of Asset management.

Work Location: Navi Mumbai

Responsibilities

1. Vendor Onboarding:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive vendor onboarding norms.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new service vendors to ensure coverage across all operational regions.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence, including background checks and capability assessments, to ensure vendor reliability and competence.

2. Vendor Performance Management:

  • Establish and enforce vendor performance standards and KPIs.
  • Monitor and evaluate vendor performance regularly, ensuring adherence to company standards and contractual obligations.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and audits to maintain service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement improvement plans for underperforming vendors.

3. Commercial Management:

  • Negotiate and manage commercial terms with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and value for money.
  • Develop pricing strategies and payment terms that align with company financial goals.
  • Manage vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze and report on commercial performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.

4. Service Network Development:

  • Strategically plan and expand the service network to meet the growing needs of the business.
  • Develop relationships with key industry stakeholders and service contractors.
  • Ensure the service network is equipped to handle the company's operational scale and complexity.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with service delivery.

5. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with internal teams, including Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, and Finance, to ensure alignment of service network activities with company objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, addressing issues and facilitating smooth operations.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on network performance and development.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in service network development, with at least 3-5 years at a regional level.
  • Proven experience in developing and managing service networks across multiple states/regions.
  • Strong understanding of service contractors and vendor management best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using vendor management systems and related software tools.
  • Knowledge of the renewable energy sector, particularly solar energy, is highly desirable.
