This role involves close collaboration with the Project Manager, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Role & responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Initiation
Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
Develop detailed project plans (work breakdown structure, schedules, budgets).
Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
Coordinate with stakeholders, clients, architects, and consultants.

2. Resource Management
Determine required resources: manpower, materials, machinery.
Allocate and manage personnel (engineers, site supervisors, contractors).
Procure materials and equipment in coordination with procurement teams.
Ensure optimal utilization of resources.

3. Budgeting and Cost Control
Prepare and monitor project budgets.
Track expenses and ensure financial control.
Approve vendor invoices and manage cash flow.
Identify and manage cost-saving opportunities.

4. Scheduling and Time Management
Ensure timely delivery of each project milestone.
Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to avoid delays.
Handle adjustments to the schedule as required.

5. Quality Assurance and Compliance
Implement quality control processes.
Ensure that construction meets design specifications, codes, and safety standards.

6. Risk Management
Identify potential project risks (technical, financial, environmental, etc.).
Develop risk mitigation and contingency plans.
Monitor for new risks during execution.
Handle emergencies or unexpected events.

7. Communication and Coordination
Serve as the main point of contact between stakeholders.
Conduct regular project meetings and progress reviews.
Report project status to senior management and clients.
Maintain clear documentation (daily reports, meeting minutes, change orders).

8. Safety Management
Implement and monitor site safety protocols.
Conduct safety training and toolbox talks.
Investigate and report accidents or incidents.

9. Project Closure and Handover
Oversee final inspections and snag list resolution.
Ensure completion certificates, as-built drawings, and documentation are handed over.
Close contracts and settle final accounts.
Conduct post-project evaluation (lessons learned).

10. Government Department Management
Experience in managing government departments is preferred.
Ability to navigate and comply with government regulations and procedures.
Experience in liaising with government officials and departments.

11. Local Language and Customs
Proficiency in the local language and familiarity with local customs is preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with local stakeholders and communities.

Key Skills Required:
Technical knowledge of civil engineering and construction practices.
Leadership and team management.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Problem-solving and decision-making.

Preferred candidate profile:

  • Education: Bachelor's in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience in geotchenical projects, out of which at least 2-3 years in DPM position, preferably in RS Wall, Gabion and Slope Stabilization projects.

  • Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and safety regulations.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong understanding of budget management principles and cost control strategies.
  • Multi-lingual candidates, knowing Marathi, Konkani apart from English and Hindi would be preferred.
