Job Overview:
As a Research Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and executing consumer qualitative research projects from inception to completion. With 5-7 years of experience in a consumer qualitative research role, you will be responsible for crafting proposals, planning project timelines, managing resources, overseeing field operations, and ensuring high-quality deliverables. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to facilitate insightful and actionable research outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Engagement:
Receive and interpret client briefs to understand research objectives and requirements. Develop comprehensive research proposals that meet client needs and expectations. Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates and gather feedback.
Project Planning and Management:
Plan project timelines, allocate resources, and manage budgets to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
Oversee field operations, including recruitment, scheduling, and logistics for qualitative research activities.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure all project components are aligned and progressing as planned.
Data Collection:
Research Execution: Conducting primary and secondary research to gather relevant data on market trends, consumer behavior, competitive landscapes, and other factors that impact client strategies. Data Analysis: Analyzing research data using statistical tools and methodologies to uncover meaningful insights. This includes interpreting data sets and generating reports that provide clear, actionable insights for both the strategy team and clients.
Insight Development: Transforming complex data into understandable and usable insights that can directly influence and enhance the strategic planning and creative processes within the agency. Attend and supervise fieldwork to ensure the quality and integrity of data collection. Facilitate the creation of detailed field notes and documentation during field activities. Ensure all data collection activities comply with ethical standards and best practices.
Team Collaboration and Reporting:
Work closely with report writers and researchers to provide necessary field notes, debriefings, and context for analysis.
Facilitate team meetings and debrief sessions to discuss findings, insights, and action plans.
Support the development of clear and compelling research reports and presentations.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure that all research deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
Review and provide feedback on research reports and presentations to ensure they address client objectives and provide actionable insights.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Market Research, Sociology, Psychology, Business, or a related field.
5-6 years of experience in consumer qualitative research roles, with a strong track record of managing research projects from start to finish.
Proficiency in qualitative research methodologies and techniques. Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and internal teams. Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Proficiency in using research and data analysis software/tools.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in managing remote and in-person field operations. Familiarity with both traditional and innovative qualitative research methods. Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights.
Working Conditions:
This position may require travel to attend fieldwork sessions and client meetings.
Flexible working hours may be needed to accommodate project timelines and client needs.
