This product person will become an expert in business workflows, prioritize key features, scope MVPs, ensure value delivery with each iteration, and execute initiatives that prepare the platform for athenahealth’s future growth. This role requires a solid understanding of the WHY, WHAT, and HOW; the ability to independently manage and execute with the team; and the skill to handle priorities and risks around deliverables. The Product Manager drives impact by mastering business workflows, scoping MVPs, and ensuring continual value delivery with each iteration.  Team : One of the core business divisions at athenahealth is Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) , known as ‘Collector’ in Chennai. Teams in this space manage various aspects of healthcare financial processes and help customers achieve their revenue goals. Thanks to athenahealth’s unique business architecture for RCM, the Collector Platform team is at the center of Collector’s future success. By developing core capabilities that drive and optimize workflows—and by keeping the customer’s work environment organized and transparent—the Collector Platform product suite directly impacts both athenahealth’s efficiency and customer outcomes. Job Responsibilities: Serve as the primary Product Management representative within scrum teams; independently manage ceremonies, backlog grooming, and iterative planning. Lead preparation, execution, and analysis of alpha and beta pilots, ensuring lessons learned are shared. Coach peers to build team capability. Perform win/loss analysis to support strategic reprioritization and sharpen focus on market and customer success factors. Resolve client escalations by synthesizing stakeholder feedback, identifying workflow gaps, and creating actionable backlog items to prevent recurring issues. Communicate proactively and clearly across cross-functional teams, anticipating impacts and adapting to changes. Demonstrate motivation and commitment to both team and organizational success, with a passion for healthcare and customer empathy. Balance attention to detail with flexibility in a fast-paced, evolving technical and business environment, supporting collaborative team goals.  Typical Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Product Management 5 to 7 years of product management experience Prior experience managing one or more products is required Experience in healthcare or healthcare interoperability (integrations/HL7/CCDs/Interface Engines) is a plus Strong technical understanding of product development (e.g., microservices architecture, SaaS products, micro front-ends) Familiarity with product management best practices, including Agile development Excellent verbal and written communication skills About athenahealth Our vision: In an industry that becomes more complex by the day, we stand for simplicity.
