Business Development Representative - US Market (required to work 9 AM EST to 5 PM EST shift).

The Role
Working closely with established Account Managers, the Business Development Representative (BDR) is tasked with identifying opportunities for growing JoVE’s community of subscribers. BDRs are front and center in our sales process and will engage with potential subscribers at all stages of the sale from prospecting up through close.
Responsibilities:
Reviews target territory with Account Managers and conducts market research to identify potential leads
Conducts outreach via cold-calls, emails and preset meetings
Qualifies leads by understanding their needs, budgets and timelines
Schedules appointments or demos for the sales team with qualified leads
Collaborates with marketing studio on custom marketing pieces
Handles inbound lead traffic as necessary
Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree
1-3 years of experience in Sales / Business Development
Competitive, self-driven, resilient
Candidate with international sales / US Sales would be preferable.
Required to work US hour shift - 9 AM EST to 5 PM EST.
A passion for or background in the sciences
Analytical, able to digest and draw conclusions from both quantitative and qualitative data on potential customers
Excellent presentation skills, particularly over Zoom or other video meeting software
Engaging written and spoken communication skills
Comfort with business software such as Salesforce, SalesLoft, HubSpot, Sales Navigator, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, Google Sheets and Slides, Google Meet, Zoom, Slack
