
Head Accounts and Taxation

Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting Management:
o Oversee the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records and accounts.
o Ensure the timely closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual books of accounts.
o Supervise the preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and other financial reports in accordance with accounting standards (IND-AS, IFRS, etc.).
o Lead the implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
o Manage the accounts payable and receivable processes.
o Oversee cash flow management, working capital optimization, and investment decisions.
o Collaborate with auditors for statutory audits and internal audits, ensuring accurate and
timely completion.
2. Taxation Management:
o Ensure full compliance with Indian tax laws, including Goods and Services Tax (GST),
Income Tax, Transfer Pricing, and other applicable tax regulations
o Lead the preparation and filing of direct and indirect tax returns (GST, TDS, Income Tax,
etc.)
o Manage tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax obligations
o Liaise with tax authorities and consultants, ensuring proper handling of assessments, tax
disputes, and litigations
o Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting regulations, ensuring the organization adapts to such changes promptly
3. Financial Planning & Analysis:
o Collaborate with senior management in financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategic
planning.
o Provide detailed financial analysis and reports to support decision-making at the leadership level.
o Monitor financial performance and recommend corrective measures to meet financial goals.
4. Compliance & Risk Management:
o Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, 2013, RBI guidelines, SEBI regulations, and
other statutory requirements.
o Lead internal risk assessments and establish control mechanisms to prevent financial
discrepancies or fraud.
5. Team Leadership & Development:
o Lead and mentor the accounting and taxation team, fostering a culture of continuous
learning and development.
o Provide guidance and training to team members on tax matters and accounting best
practices.
o Build an efficient accounting and tax function through team management, role clarity, and performance reviews.
6. Technology & Process Improvement:
o Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives in accounting and taxation processes.
o Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate accounting systems with other
business systems for improved efficiency.
o Ensure the organization uses appropriate accounting and taxation software, such as SAP,
Oracle, or Tally, and that systems are updated regularly.
Qualifications
o Chartered Accountant (CA)/ Cost & Management Accountant (CMA)/ MBA from reputed institution
o Minimum of 10+ years of experience in accounting and taxation, with at least 5 years in a
leadership role.
o Deep knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind-AS), IFRS, and taxation laws.
o Experience in managing complex tax issues, audits, and litigations.
