Excelra - Hyderabad - Hybrid

Quality Engineer, is a team member who brings a 'testing mindset' to the team, and is responsible for
testing and delivering complex software requirements to accomplish business outcomes.

They are a subject matter expert on testing practices ensuring the testing strategy and processes are welldefined and continuously improved for the team or teams.

Key responsibilities of the role include :

- Establishing a test and automation strategy, creating common test frameworks, defining and managing test processes including test data generation, defect management and reporting.

- A Quality Engineer, is an individual contributor to a team or across multiple teams

Mandatory Key Skills :

- Have familiarity with at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, or JavaScript, for
writing automated test scripts.

- Understand fundamental programming concepts like data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented
programming.Have knowledge of version control systems, such as Git, for managing and sharing code.

- Possess the ability to work with databases and SQL for testing purposes.

- Basic Database or SQL skills

- Familiar with different types of databases, such as Postgres SQL , Oracle or MS SQL, so that they can
handle the demands for quality assurance.

- The ability to understand and manage queries or validate the data in the backend and database knowledge is required.

- Knowledge and experience in testing tools

Automated testing tools :


- Selenium, Appium, and TestComplete Performance testing tools: Tools like LoadRunner, JMeter, and Gatling


Key Responsibilities :

- Develops detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test cases based on functional and non-functional requirements.

- Contributes to test planning, and when part of a Scrum team, builds test cases for stories in the given sprint, per story acceptance criteria

- Participates in test case reviews and makes necessary updates.

- Builds and uses test data required to accomplish execution of test cases.

- Executes test cases, including manual and automated tests, and records test results.

- Reports issues and defects along with appropriate background information for review.

- Collaborates with developers on reproducing, detailing, and documenting reported defects.

- Uses testing tools and follows processes required to complete testing work.

- Traces tests to requirements for the given scope (ref:hirist.tech)
