About the Job :

Zepto is looking for dynamic design leaders who have strong foundational skills in design, creative strategy and team management. As a Design lead at Zepto, you will be stakeholding multiple projects received by the brand team alongside project managers. You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to create business solutions through design that not only look great but also align with our strategic goals.

Major Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead a design team of 3-5 members, to manage design projects, and ensure the timely delivery of design deliverables.
  • Collaborate with other creative teams in the brand function to develop creative concepts, designs, and layouts across different channels.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders by understanding their business needs and providing design solutions proactively.
  • Allocate resources and manage workloads with project managers.
  • Decode business problems and translate them into creative briefs for the design team alongside project managers.
  • Ensure that the design output is visually appealing, on-brand, and consistent with the brand tonality.
  • Present & articulate design decisions, ideas and concepts to stakeholders alongside project managers to ensure the final output solves business problems.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of design projects.
  • Actively participate in strategy and brainstorming sessions and contribute to ideation and concept development.
  • Manage and mentor junior team members, providing guidance, training and support to help them grow and ensuring they are upskilling
  • Creating efficient workflows to ensure a smooth execution
  • Being a part of stakeholder/external agency calls and keeping up to speed with their requirements and staying in touch.
  • To organize monthly work / successes / learnings / presentations to the wider brand team to showcase work from the team managed.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Professional degree in Design, Fine Arts or Advertising is a must.
  • 6-8 years of professional experience in a design role in a creative/advertising agency or in-house design team.
  • Someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment following a rapid iterative design approach, where the only thing constant is change.
  • 2+ experience in leading designers in various design projects including but not limited to branding, advertising, print, OOH, packaging, performance marketing.
  • Strong understanding of creative strategy, copywriting and video production is a plus.
  • Effective time management and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
  • Past experience in managing external photographers, illustrators & agencies is preferred.
  • Keeping up to latest design trends and tools to enable the design process of the team is a plus.
