Your responsibilities will include: As a Combat Systems Engineer , you’ll play a key role in the Guided Missile Destroyer (DDG) upgrade program, contributing to requirements development, architecture, and verification for the Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) Combat System upgrade. Working within the DDG SEIT team, you’ll help shape the updated DDG Combat System baseline by driving requirements integrity, design coordination and supporting major engineering reviews and system readiness activities. Key Responsibilities : Deliver Combat System systems engineering activities across requirements analysis, architecture development and subsystem definition Develop and maintain functional and non-functional requirements and supporting design artefacts Support major engineering milestones including design reviews, test readiness and system readiness reviews Develop and implement approved Engineering Changes Work closely with specialty engineering disciplines (Safety, HF, Cyber, Topside, ILS) to ensure design assurance and holistic system compliance The role can be based in either Adelaide or Melbourne. About you: Skills & experience required: Tertiary qualifications in Engineering and/or equivalent relevant experience in Defence or complex logistics projects Experience integrating, testing or evaluating Combat System products on naval platforms or other complex military systems Strong understanding of maritime combat system requirements and system behaviour Broad experience across the systems engineering lifecycle, including DOORS and Rational Publishing Engine Background in military systems design using GFX and COTS components Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering environments, ideally in Defence Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to meet engineering objectives Experience applying structured development and documentation processes on complex modern systems An active NV-1 security clearance and ability to handle Export Controlled information Knowledge or experience in C4ISREW or Combat System Warfare domains (AAW, ASW, ASuW) - desirable Special Requirements: Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
