Asisstant/Deputy Manager Direct Purchase

Job Title :  – Assistant/Deputy Manager Purchase & Procurement (Direct Materials)  Location : Bhiwadi Plant, Rajasthan   Position Summary We are looking to hire a highly experienced, strategic, and technically sound professional for Purchase & Procurement to lead the entire spectrum of direct procurement operations at our Bhiwadi plant . The role requires deep expertise in metals procurement, steel alloys, forgings (hot and cold), precision machined components  with hands-on involvement in SAP implementation , vendor development , and project-based sourcing . The ideal candidate should bring proven experience in engineering costing, metallurgy, supplier negotiations , and should possess a strategic mindset toward cost control, supply risk mitigation, and inventory optimization , while being proficient in export logistics and international sourcing . Key Responsibilities Strategic Procurement Define and implement long-term sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.   Oversee procurement of raw materials (steel, alloys, forgings), machined parts , and capital goods (machinery/tools).   Lead direct procurement activities and ensure cost-effective sourcing.   Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure timely and compliant procurement.   Supplier & Vendor Development Identify, assess, and develop vendors – both domestic and international – ensuring high quality, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency.   Implement vendor performance evaluation , benchmarking, and continuous improvement practices.   Manage supplier audits , onboarding, and negotiations to ensure value-driven partnerships.   Drive localization where feasible to reduce lead time and cost.   Costing & Technical Evaluation Perform technical evaluation of procurement proposals in terms of metallurgy, forging methods, machining , and engineering drawings .   Ensure cost modeling , should-cost analysis , and design-to-cost methodologies are used for decision-making.   Work closely with product engineering and costing teams to align procurement with product design and innovation.   Process Management & Compliance Drive automation and digitization of procurement processes.   Ensure robust documentation, SOPs, and compliance with ISO/TS , statutory , and company policies .   Own the entire procure-to-pay (P2P) process efficiency.   SAP Implementation & ERP Integration Play a leading role in SAP/MM module implementation and system optimization.   Ensure accurate data management, procurement reporting, and dashboarding through SAP and other digital tools.   Export & Logistics Oversight Coordinate with export and logistics departments to ensure seamless flow of goods, compliance with export regulations, and optimization of freight and customs processes.   Ensure export packaging, documentation, and vendor readiness as per international standards.   Key Skills & Requirements 8- 12 years of relevant experience in procurement/purchase in a metal, engineering, automotive, or precision component industry .   Strong background in metal procurement (steel, alloy, forging – hot/cold) and machined component sourcing .   Must have deep understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, machining processes, and costing .   Proven success in vendor management, negotiation, and strategic sourcing .   Expertise in SAP (preferably SAP MM module); must have led or been a core member in SAP implementation.   Hands-on experience in export/import processes, EXIM documentation, and international logistics .   Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, quality, and finance teams.   Educational Qualifications B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Diploma/Production / Metallurgy Engineering (mandatory)   MBA in Supply Chain / Operations (preferred but not mandatory)
